How pricing works
The minimum charge for any visit is $75, which covers up to one hour on site. A small item such as a single nightstand or chair can be booked on its own, but the visit still costs the $75 minimum, so it pays to have several small items done together.

Bedroom Furniture Assembly in Chatham
I assemble bedroom furniture such as beds, dressers, nightstands, wardrobes and bunk beds. Bed assembly is where rushed work shows up first: a frame that was hurried will creak within weeks, and a wardrobe that is out of square will never close properly. I build them level, square and fully tightened.
Dresser assembly is mostly about the drawers. I make sure each one runs smoothly and lines up before I leave. Bunk beds and sliding-door wardrobes are the two jobs people most often abandon halfway, and both are on the list.

Exercise & Fitness Equipment Assembly
Treadmills and home gyms are heavy, awkward and difficult to do alone. There is a knack to getting one through a doorway and built without marking the floor or the frame.
I handle treadmills, exercise bikes, ellipticals, weight benches, power racks and full home gyms. Exercise equipment assembly is quoted individually because the range is so wide, so send me the make and model for a fixed price.

Office Furniture Assembly in Chatham-Kent
I assemble desks, standing desks, office chairs, filing cabinets and bookcases for home offices and business premises. Desk assembly usually takes one to two hours, and a wobbling desk is nearly always two bolts that were never brought up tight.
For offices, landlords and Airbnb hosts, I can do a whole room or unit in one visit, which works out cheaper than piecing it together.

TV Stand Assembly & Wall Mounting
I assemble TV stands, entertainment centres and media consoles, built level with the cables routed tidily instead of left in a heap behind the unit.
I also mount televisions on the wall. Brackets go into studs, never into drywall alone, and the TV comes out level.

Dining Room Furniture Assembly
I assemble dining tables, chairs, full sets and buffet cabinets. Dining table assembly is straightforward; the chairs are the fiddly part, because six chairs is six chances for one to be left slightly loose.
Booking a table and chairs together is cheaper than booking them separately.

Bookshelf, Shelving & Cabinet Assembly
I assemble bookcases, shelving units, storage cabinets and closet organisers. Tall units get anchored to the wall as standard, because a loaded bookcase that tips is a real hazard in a home with children.
If a floor is not level, and in older Chatham homes it often is not, I shim the unit so the shelves sit true.

Outdoor, Patio & Gazebo Assembly
I assemble patio sets, gazebos, BBQs, sheds and playsets on site in your yard. Outdoor builds are best booked ahead in spring, when everyone buys at once.
Gazebos and sheds are full-day jobs and quoted individually.

IKEA Furniture Assembly in Chatham
IKEA furniture assembly is a large part of what I do. IKEA has its own quirks: cam locks that must be turned exactly right, dowels that only go one way, and instructions with no words at all. PAX, MALM, BILLY, KALLAX and HEMNES are all familiar ground.
I also assemble flat-pack furniture from Amazon, Wayfair, Costco, Walmart, Canadian Tire, Structube, The Brick and Leon’s. The brand makes no difference to the price.

Furniture Repair, Disassembly & Moves
I tighten wobbly furniture, make drawers run properly, adjust hinges and replace hardware. It is often a thirty-minute job that saves replacing the whole piece.
For moves, I take furniture apart, label and bag the hardware so nothing goes missing, and reassemble it at the other end.

Commercial Furniture Assembly
I assemble office furniture, retail fixtures, reception furniture and restaurant seating, and furnish rental units. Landlords and Airbnb hosts booking repeat turnovers are welcome.
Commercial work is charged hourly and scheduled around your opening hours.
